Actor, writer and director Harold Ramis died at 69 on Monday in his Chicago home. His work included such films as "Ghostbusters" and "Groundhog Day".
Ramis's talent agency claimed that his death was linked to his autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis illness, which he battled for years, CNN reported.
The notable comedy figure began his career as a joke editor and reviewer for Playboy magazine. He would later go on to write and perform in The National Lampoon Show - and by 1976 he was the head writer of a top Canadian comedy series SCTV.
