Egypt Names Prime Minister Who Is Close to Murbarak

Egypt’s interim president, Adly Mansour, has appointed Ibrahim Mahlab, who has close ties to ousted President Hosni Mubarak, as the country’s new prime minister on Tuesday.

This appointment came after the country’s resignation of the interim government.

Mahlab said that he would form a new government in a timely fashion.

Labor strikes have reached a new peak because of the country’s economic failures.
