8 Movies To Get Excited For In 2014

With January just passing us by, there’s still tons of films in store for us. This year is going to be packed with everything from thrilling super-hero blockbusters to unique indie projects.

This film is bound to be a great one. It’s got everyone from George Clooney, to Matt Damon, and Cate Blanchett. Talk about an A-list cast! Set during WWII, a special platoon attempts to retrieve masterpieces that were stolen by Nazi thieves and bring them back to their rightful owners. Based on a true story, "Monuments Men" will give us a glimpse into a side of WWII that is too often overlooked. Check out the trailer for the movie here.

In "Divergent," Shailene Woodley, who you might recognize from the successful film, "The Spectacular Now," plays a gifted teenager whose life becomes endangered and finds herself fighting against the leaders of her society. If that doesn’t sound interesting enough, there’s always that handsome co-star of hers, Theo James, to ogle at. This movie has action, suspense and love, what more can we ask for? The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
Release Date: November 21
With the tremendously successful "Hunger Games: Catching Fire," it’s no surprise that "Mockingjay Part 1" made it onto our list. How can we forget that cliffhanger ending? This spring, Jennifer Lawrence will be back as the strong and bad-ass Katniss Evergreen, leading her district in the rebellion against the capitol. Need I say more? Go watch it! In this dark remake of Disney’s classic animation, "Sleeping Beauty," Angelina Jolie brings to life the evil witch we’ve all grown up hating and fearing. Set in a fantasy world filled with dragons and magic, "Maleficent" exposes the untold story of the mysterious Maleficent and opens our eyes to a whole new side of the iconic fairy tale. This summer, Andrew Garfield is back as the one and only Spiderman. With his ongoing relationship with Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone, Peter Parker tries to endure high school while also fighting against his new enemy, OsCorp. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill team up once again in the highly anticipated "22 Jump Street." This time, they leave high school behind and move on to bigger and better things: college.
