The Ukrainian Prime Minister, Mykola Azarov, and his cabinet resigned on Tuesday as the country’s political crisis heightened.

Ukrainian president Viktor F. Yanukovych has announced his acceptance of Azarov’s resignation. But Azarov and other cabinet ministers will still perform their duties until the new government is formed.

The resignation was to ease the anger among protestors and was seen as one of the concessions made by the president.

The president may also concede and provide amnesty for arrested protestor, but this didn’t seem to please the protestors.

While the concessions are a step in the right direction, protesters have said that their fundamental grievances have yet to be addressed, according to CNN.

Prime Minister stepped down and said that he wanted the negotiation to be more effective.
