A victim was shot and killed in an electrical engineering building at Purdue University on Tuesday. Police officials say the shooting appears to have been a calculated act with a one-man target; the suspect left the building immediately after the shooting, where he was arrested by a city police officer.

"This appears to be an isolated and intentional act," Purdue Police Chief John Cox said, according to CNN. "The victim appeared to have been targeted by the suspect, and it was no more and no less than that."

The victim has been identified as a 21-year-old Andrew Boldt, a senior who worked as a teaching assistant. Both he and the gunman were students at Purdue, although the motive of the shooting is still unknown.

Much of the details of the incident have not been released: Investigators have not explained the victim's relationship with the suspect nor the type of gun used.
