A-Rod's Game Suspension Reduced To 162 Games

In a Saturday ruling by arbitrator Frederic Horowitz, Alex Rodriguez, third baseman for the New York Yankees, has been suspended for the 2014 baseball season, a period that includes 162 regular season games plus the entire post-season.

The ruling comes after A-Rod appealed the original 211-game ban handed down by Major League Baseball and played the final two months of the 2013 season.

Rodriguez is one of 13 players suspended following MLB's investigation of Biogenesis, a South Florida anti-aging clinic linked to performance-enhancing drugs.

Despite the suspension reduction, A-Rod is not happy, announcing on his Facebook page that he will contest Saturday's ruling in court.

"The number of games sadly comes as no surprise, as the deck has been stacked against me since day one," he said.
