Happy meals delivered a few extra goodies for those looking to obtain illegal narcotics in East Pittsburgh, until law enforcement caught onto the scheme and arrested a McDonald’s drive-thru employee on Wednesday.

Police were tipped off about heroin being sold at the establishment in a rather creative manner. An exchange would routinely be set up in advance, after which a customer would pull into the drive-thru and ask for a “Happy Meal toy.” After making the request, the customer would be instructed to pay the suspect, Shantia Marie Dennis, in exchange for the bundle of heroin stamp bags.

Police enacted this procedure with their tipster and arrested Dennis on charges of drug delivery and possession in addition to “criminal use of a communication facility.”
