The Golden Globes is the party of awards season. Stars dine, drink and schmooze at tables as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association recognizes great work in both film and television.

Some of the best moments from the 2014 Golden Globes weren’t captured on camera, but behind-the-scenes. We were there backstage in the pressroom with all the winners after their shining moments.

Jennifer Lawrence kicked off the evening with the first big win of the night for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for “American Hustle.”

“It’s really just kind of incredible. I have no idea what I’m doing here. It just feels insane,” said Lawrence on her win. “This is crazy.”

Amy Adams also won for her work in “American Hustle,” taking home the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, but she was also at the show to represent the film “Her.” She happened to make her way into the pressroom as director Spike Jonze was on stage.

“Amy, did you win?” Jonze asked Adams. “She’s the best!”

The two hugged and exchanged a few words as Adams took the podium to answer questions.

“I have a three-and-a-half-year-old, I hustle a lot,” said Adams on how she ‘hustles’ in real life. “There’s a lot of working it out to try to get her on board.”

“American Hustle” was one of the night’s big winners, also taking home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical. “Twelve Years a Slave” took home the award for Best Motion Picture, Drama.

The biggest surprise of the evening was “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” beating out “Modern Family” for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical. Andy Samberg also won Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical for his work in the new Fox series.

“All I ever wanted to do was be on ‘SNL,’” said Samberg, surprised and overwhelmed by his win. “Everything from that point forward has been icing for me.”

Other men taking home awards included Leonardo DiCaprio for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for “The Wolf of Wall Street” and Matthew McConnaughey for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for “Dallas Buyers Club.”

“I have been choosing roles that shook my floor,” said McConnaughey on where his career will go from here. “I have been choosing directors and stories that I haven’t seen before and characters, men with real identities.”

More major wins included Cate Blanchett for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for her role in “Blue Jasmine,” Jared Leto for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for “Dallas Buyers Club” and award show host Amy Poehler for Best Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical for “Parks and Recreation.”

As we left the Beverly Hilton Hotel, we passed Adams chatting it up with Bryan Cranston and Jimmy Fallon talking to his team, as they kept the Golden Globes party atmosphere going on their way to the official after parties.
