Ryan Loskarn, the former chief of staff to Republican Senator Lamar Alexander, was found dead in his home in Maryland. Police believe Laskarn committed suicide.

Loskarn was charged with possessing and distributing child pornography last December 18, 2013.

According to the Daily Beast, Alexander fired Laskarn the same day his Washington D.C. house was raided by federal agents.

Around 12 p.m. on Thursday, the Carroll County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of an unconscious male in a private residence.

The sheriff's office said, "Family members reported finding 35-year old Ryan Loskarn unresponsive in his basement where he'd been residing with family since this past December."

The Tennessean reported that Loskarn's body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
