A car bomb exploded in Lebanon’s capitol on Thursday morning, the BBC reports

Five people have been pronounced dead, with 60 move civilians injured because of the bombing, which occurred during rush hour.

The street on which the attack took place is densely populated, with many stores and apartments surrounding. The political offices are nearby as well.

This is not the first time Beirut has been stricken. The city has been caught in the middle of the Syrian war and the Sunni-Shia disagreement.

Last Friday, another car bomb exploded, killing six and injuring 50 civilians.

There was also an attack on the Iranian embassy in November which left 23 dead.
