Food mashups were all the rage last year, and it doesn't look like they're going out of style any time soon. This spring, a new restaurant called ChocoChicken will open and begin serving food as its name suggests, chocolate-flavored fried chicken.

Adam Fleischman, the founder of Umami Burger, began this project with hopes of the restaurant expanding to about 1,000 to 2,000 branches nationwide, which is about half the size of KFC Corporation

Fleischman claims that his version of chocolate chicken will not taste anything like what we'd expect. Though his exact recipe is top secret, he says that the chicken batter will be infused with chocolate. The chicken will be marinated for about 12 to 24 hours, breaded with secret breading, and rubbed.

Not only will this restaurant serve chocolate-flavored fried chicken, but it will also serve biscuits and classic side dishes with a modern twist. Customers will also have access to a full bar with specialty drinks.

ChocoChicken will open this March and will be located at 403 W. 12th St.
