A police car carrying Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti struck a pedestrian on Tuesday, according to his office.

According to KNBC-TV, the LAPD car struck a woman in downtown Los Angeles around noon, near 2nd Street and Spring Street. The woman's condition was not immediately revealed.

The mayor's office said Garcetti was on his phone at the time of the accident.
