USC To Hire Steve Sarkisian As Next Football Coach

Sarkisian worked at USC as an offensive assistant in 2001 and as a quarterbacks coach from 2002-2004.
Sarkisian had said that he had "talked" to USC but denied interviewing with athletic director Pat Haden.
Sarkisian worked as USC's offensive coordinator when Lane Kiffin left USC to coach the Oakland Raiders.
Trojan fans remember Sarkisian as a great offensive mind, but also as a formidable foe, as Sarkisian upset #3 USC 16-13 in his first season as Washington head coach.
Sarkisian was mentioned early in USC’s coaching search, but lost momentum behind names like Jack Del Rio, Kevin Sumlin, James Franklin, Chris Peterson and USC interim head coach Ed Orgeron.

Sarkisian is certainly not as flashy a hire as Sumlin or Peterson, but has experience with USC’s program, knows how to recruit in Los Angeles and brings an innovative offensive mind.
There is no word yet on whether Sarkisian will keep Orgeron on his staff, but they have worked together before, and Haden has expressed interest in keeping Orgeron in some capacity, as fans and players love the savvy recruiter.
