Republican Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander expelled his chief of staff, Ryan Loskarn, on alleged claims involving child pornography.

The former Tennessee governor said that he was “stunned, surprised, and disappointed” in his trusted employee.

Loskarn has been working with Alexander since 2011. The Senator is seeking re-election for his position as Senator in 2014.

Loskarn will be put on unpaid administrative leave.

He previously worked as the director of the Senate Republican Conference and was named one of Roll Call's "Fabulous 50 Movers and Shakers" in Washington D.C.
