Santa Claus has a new face at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, one of the few malls in the country that features a black Kris Kringle.

Some say Langston Patterson, a.k.a. "Santa" around Christmastime, is the only black shopping-mall Santa Claus in the L.A. area, reported The Los Angeles Times.

The 77-year-old told The Times he didn't think his skin color made him different.

Patterson's role is welcomed in light of controversy at Fox News when TV host Megyn Kelly asserted that both Santa and Jesus were white.
