It has just been announced that Rita Ora has just joined the cast of the film adaptation of "50 Shades of Grey."

The 23-year-old British singer landed the role of Mia, the adopted sister of Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan. Ora will be starring alongside Dakota Johnson, who will be playing Anastasia Steel, Eloise Mumford, Luke Grimes, and Max Martini.

Ora, known for her pop songs "R.I.P." and "How We Do," will be trading in her musical pipes in order to focus on the major project. She's also making her transition into the acting world.

After releasing her last album "Ora" in 2012, she's made appearances in an episode of "90210" and in the most recent "Fast 6," the latest "Fast & Furious" movie.

Since acting is not her first talent in the entertainment industry, it will be interesting to see how she will do in "50 Shades of Grey," a major film production. Perhaps this movie will be her big break into film and television, if not simply pull the spotlight over to the singer.

"50 Shades of Grey" tells the story of a kinky relationship between top businessman Christian Grey and college graduate Anastasia Steele. The film will be dark, but the character of Mia tends to always bring Grey into a lighter mood.

"50 Shades of Grey" will hit theaters Feb. 13, 2015.
