Jay Z turns 44 today. What is he doing to celebrate? Going vegan.

The rapper announced on his website, lifeandtimes.com, that he and Beyonce are going vegan for 22 days.

"Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you've found the way," says the blog post, which is why they are making the lifestyle change for 22 days.

The post also explains the significance of the 22 day diet. 2+2=4, this is Jay Z's 44th birthday and both his and Beyonce's birthdates are on the 4th. Bey's is on Sept. 4. 

Other vegan celebrities include Usher, Carrie Underwood, Natalie Portman, and Joaquin Phoenix.
