Harold Camping, the Oakland, CA radio preacher who has predicted the end of the world at least twelve times since 1978, died on Sunday at the age of 92.

Camping believed that he had "unlocked hidden clues in the Bible" and publicized his prophecies through his Family Radio Network.  His most recent armageddon prediction on May 21, 2011 was widely ridiculed.

Following the failed prediction, Camping said he "miscalculated" the Bible and said that October 21, 2011 was the new Judgment Day.

In the run up to both failed predictions, Camping and his radio network posted more than 2,000 billboards around the U.S. His followers, as far away as the Philippines, also distributed flyers and pamphlets and carried signs publicizing Camping's prediction.

The radio preacher died in his Alameda home after suffering a fall last month, according to a statement from the Family Radio Network.
