'Tis the season to be trendy! You have seen countless tips on how to be more glittery, more metallic, and more tree-like for Christmas (yep, it's a thing). If you are like us, you probably find these themes to be downright boring and overdone year after year. Even so, you still crave a look that is festive and fun, without breaking the bank. If you aren't feeling the excessive glitter, ugly sweaters, or a tightened wallet, worry no more. Here are Christmas character-inspired outfits that you can sport anywhere from an evening dinner to a casual day out without spending over $100 per outfit.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph never looked more stylish!

With combat boots lending a slight edge, this outfit is perfect for a day out on the town shopping and grabbing a bite to eat at a casual restaurant. So if you have a pair of boots lying around, throw them on with this outfit and you are set!

Though the red, slouchy crew neck (which can be found on Etsy for $29) is the most expensive part of this outfit, the reindeer beanie can be found online at River Island for $12.

As an added touch, yellow color-block leggings were added to keep the ensemble from looking too simple.

However, if you are into something a little more basic, then put on your favorite pair of black leggings instead.

The entire look can be put together for less than $50.

Mrs. Claus

This look is the classiest of the collection.

Perfect for dinner or an evening get together, this look screams Christmas without looking too garish or costume-like.

The red A-line dress with white polka-dotted trim gives off a younger vibe. Forget about that old-fashioned red turtleneck with fluffy white trimming!

The ankle strap heels not only add to the outfit's youthful feel, but lend it a classic air. To amp up this vibe, top off this stylish look with red lipstick and pin-curled hair for a 1940's Mrs. Claus.

The very best part about this outfit is that all of these pieces can be found at various retail stores for reasonable prices. Stores like Ross or TJ Maxx almost always give a lot of bang for your buck. We think Santa would be pleased.

Frosty the Snow(wo)man

If Frosty rocked a pencil dress, we would probably be singing a different tune. With a red scarf and black booties, this look is extremely flexible. You could easily be visiting your in-laws in this outfit, or waiting in line to enter a jazz concert.

Since the weather outside is frightful, a simple pea coat can be layered on top without making the character-inspired outfit look too busy. Pea coats can easily cost hundreds of dollars, but this Mossimo pea coat can be found at Target for $40 in a variety of colors. The booties can be interchanged with any black boots, high calf or heeled---so whatever you already own will match.

The centerpiece of this outfit, the white pencil dress, can easily be found in a range of prices. Dorothy Perkins and ASOS' selections run between $27-$45. However, ASOS currently has a 50% off holiday sale, including a UniDays 10% off discount for students.

Santa's Elf

This is the most playful (yet sophisticated) look in this set. The pea coat and ankle-strapped platforms set a mature tone. But when the brown elf hat is added, the fun comes out.

Unlike usual elf hats, this chocolate brown topper is not baggy or colorful. It bears a closer resemblance to the "train and simple" 1940's hats that women wore on their way to the train station (offered at ModCloth.com).With this accessory's demure color and simple shape, it is the perfect piece to go with any festive outfit. Position the cap slightly off to the side of your head and you will achieve yet another classic look that is suitable for any occasion.

Due to the particular style of this hat, it can be a bit elusive. Etsy is one of the few online shops that offer elf hats in this color and many more. While it may take more of a hunt to get a hold of the hat, the rest of the pieces in the outfit are easy to find, available anywhere from Nordstrom to your local bargain store.
