Amanda Bynes has officially been released from the Malibu rehabilitation center she had been in for the past five months. Once America's sweetheart, Bynes took a turn for the worse in 2012 when she racked up DUI and hit-and-run charges. The former actress then took to twitter with a slew of incohesive tweets that made everyone, including a judge, seriously question her sanity.

Bynes was involuntarily hospitalized under a 5150 psychiatric hold in July, and was later moved to a rehab facility for treatment.

Bynes had been in treatment after reportedly starting a fire in her neighbor's driveway in Thousand Oaks, CA. Although police said there was not a crime committed, the strange behavior prompted a court-ordered mental health evaluation.

Last month, a judge reviewed her evaluation and decided that the former child star was now capable of understanding her criminal charges. Bynes is now expected to appear in court on Jan 7, 2014 for reevaluation and to face sentencing.

Now that she's a free woman, Bynes is looking good and apparently doing better. "I'm doing great, it's been five days since I got out of rehab," the star told InTouch magazine on Dec. 3.

While she continues to recover, Bynes is living with her parents and allegedly enrolling in college.

"Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She's very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared," Bynes' lawyer Tamar Arminak told People magazine. "She's now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design."

After a radically unstable year, it seems that this actress is finally getting her life together. Good for you Amanda!
