The icy roads and cold conditions in Massachusetts led to a 70-car collision Sunday morning on Highway 290. The vehicles include cars and four trucks that slammed into each other, CNN reports

Over 35 people were rushed to the hospital with two in critical condition. A state trooper's car was also involved in the crash, but the officer was not hurt.

The massive pileup built up over the morning because cars were unable to stop, due to the icy roads, and see in the darkness of the morning. The road was reported to be as slippery as a skating rink.

The road was closed for five hours and is now re-opened. Traffic from the Thanksgiving holiday was thus worse for people in New England this weekend.
