5 Times Ron Burgundy Caught The Public's Eye

His burgundy suit, 70's hair and mustache has been appearing in public more and more recently to promote the sequel of "Anchorman" - "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," which is scheduled to be released on December 18.
This sequel of the comedy classic has broke out from the use of traditional media advertising, instead it makes use of publicity stunts and social media to remind people who Ron Burgundy is. Here are the top 5 publicity stunts seen in the past months to promote Anchorman 2:
1. Ron Burgundy Co-anchors North Dakota News
The legendary Anchorman dropped by KX News in Bismarck last Saturday as a surprise guest. Throughout the newscast, Ron Burgundy makes a few jokes and made it difficult for his fellow co-hosts to keep a straight face. For example he commented after the sports segment of a fight in a hockey match, saying, "I've never seen fighting in a hockey match before, that was fascinating." 2. Ron Burgundy's Dodge TV Commercials
Ron Burgundy partnered up with Dodge and appeared in 70 different TV spots from him yelling at dancers to playing the saxophone in the backseat of the car. These spots call all be viewed on the company's Youtube page. Not only was Ferrell able to promote his film, sales of Dodge Durangos went up 59 percent after the ads aired.
3. Ron Burgundy and Daft Punk travels around Amsterdam
During the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, Ron Burgundy appeared in a video sketch during the show which shows him going around the city with Daft Punk. He was also going around during the show and during red carpet. Here are some of the things he did during the EMAs。
4. Ron Burgundy Publishes Autobiography
"Let Me Off at the Top!: My Classy Life and Other Musings" was released in November, revealing the inner thoughts and private life of fan's favorite anchorman. There was no writing credit other than Ron Burgundy himself, in his own words: "this is a very important book for a very important man." There is a short excerpt of it from The New Yorker.
5. Join Ron's New Crew
In November, Paramount released Ron Burgundy's Special Report searching for news co-anchors on Youtube, attracting fans to submit their auditions to the movie's official tumblr. Not only are their video auditions, the tumblr posts GIFs and Memes of the film regularly. According to Paramount's svp of interactive marketing, Megan Wahtera, "our fans have been creating content and essentially marketing for us, but it's our job to feed the frenzy."
