We've got 12 ideas to keep you occupied and happy on the fourth day after Winter Solstice.
- Get Chinese food with your Jewish friends. It's practically a national holiday. There's some fascinating history about this dating back to the 1800s in NY.
- Go shopping. Believe it or not, a ton of stores are still open. Check out Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and drown out those Christmas blues with excessive credit card swipes.
- Drive around L.A. There. Is. No. Traffic.
- If you're in L.A., go grab a bite to eat at one of these fine establishments.
- Road Trip! Go for a drive, up the coast or through the countryside. Ever been to Santa Barbara? I hear it's beautiful this time of year.
- Start knocking off lines from the bucket list. Have you ever…
- Have dinner with your family. Even if you don't celebrate Xmas, it's still a great opportunity to spend time with family and spread your own kind of holiday cheer (even if it involves a deluge of eggnog and bourbon).
- Go sit in a dark room with comfy chairs for about two hours. Hollywood loves to release movies on Xmas day just for you. The Wolf of Wall Street, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Grudge Match, Justin Bieber's Believe (<-- I mean, you can't go wrong there).
- Take a hike. Leave your concrete jungle and explore the serenity of the great outdoors.
- Embrace the irony, and shadow a Hipster for Christmas.
- When all else fails, here's the list of bars open on Christmas Day.
