Making Christmas crafts with the kids might just be a way to set the mood for Christmas time around the house. In addition to some quality time with the kids, these crafts can easily work as decorations around the house for years to come. Below are 10 easy and fun crafts that will make any home feel like a winter wonderland.


Candy Cane Christmas Trees

Need more Christmas tree ornaments? Have the kids make candy cane Christmas decorations with this simple craft. All that is needed for this craft is a candy cane, green felt, scissors, glue (or hot glue), pipe cleaners and an assortment of beads. 

Candy Cane Pom Pom Ornament

The candy cane pom pom ornament is another craft that does not need a lot of materials and is sure to complement any Christmas tree.  In order to make the craft, you can either print the template online for the candy cane and wreath cut outs, or you can simply try to draw them yourself. To build this craft you will need glue, cardboard, different colors of pom poms, and string to attach to the ornament.

Candy Cane Mice

This is a cute craft created by none other than Martha Stewart. To make these adorable mice, you will need print the template on Martha Stewart’s website, a pencil, scissors, craft glue, different colors of felt and candy canes.

Reindeer Candy Cane Ornaments 

Making reindeer candy cane is a simple and fun craft for kids. To make this craft all you need are the following materials: a candy cane, two googly eyes, pipe streamers, a pom pom, and tacky glue (or hot glue).

The A-Bottle-Able Snowmen

These adorable snowmen are sure to become timeless Christmas decorations to put around the house. You will need the following to make this craft: plastic jar or bottle, scissors, a craft knife (an adult's job), battery-operated tea light, water, glue, a paint brush, white, black, and orange tissue paper, small black beads, sequins, or buttons and ribbon.

Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees

After making these cupcake liner Christmas trees, they can easily be used as decorations around the house or as centerpieces at a holiday dinner. For this creative craft you will need:  12×12 cardstock, cupcake liners, scissors and tape.

If you do not have fancy craft supplies, this a great craft to make with materials around the house. All you need to make this cute decoration are the following supplies: a paper plate, black sharpie, glue, construction paper and cotton balls.

Egg Snowman

These egg snowmen are sure to be a hit at any holiday party. To make six servings of these edible snowmen, you will need: six large hard-boiled eggs, six small hard-boiled eggs, peppercorns, one carrot, a skewer, uncooked pasta and parsley.


Plastic Bottles Snowflake Ornaments

This craft turns out beautiful snowflakes fit for any Christmas tree and is a wonderful way to reuse plastic bottles. The only materials needed to make these snowflakes are plastic bottles, scissors and different colors of paint (preferably different shades of blue and white).
