Vegetarian Thanksgiving Feast Ideas

For many the excitement behind Thanksgiving is all the delicious meals served up. However, for vegetarians, this can be less exciting when a majority of the dishes have meat or are based with some kind of meat product.

So what’s a vegetarian to do? Why not make your own vegetarian feast? Despite all the meat-based dishes, there are plenty of vegetarian alternatives to make your vegetarian Thanksgiving wonderfully delicious.

Tofurkey
Although some people may cringe when they hear the word “tofurkey,” if you’re a vegetarian tofurkey is not a terrible turkey substitute. There are some recipes for tofurkey that would surprise even non-vegetarians.

Main Dishes

Fortunately for those who dislike the idea of tofurkey, there are  plenty alternative main vegetarian dishes. Below is a list of additional main dishes that could easily be served at any Thanksgiving feast.

Who could forget about stuffing on Thanksgiving? Vegetarians beware, as there are many stuffing dishes that seem to be vegetarian, but are in fact based with meat, such as with chicken broth. Here are some meat-free stuffing options to serve up on Thanksgiving.

Similar to stuffing dishes, there are few gravies served up on Thanksgiving that don’t have meat. Nonetheless, there are plenty of vegetarian gravy substitutes available that have just as much flavor.
