The Trojans, fueled by their swarming zone press, jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back on Tuesday night, dropping the Cal State-Fullerton Titans 76-62 at the Galen Center.

The win pushed the Trojans to 3-1 on the season, while resembling the frantic defense and fast-paced offense that has become the trademark of head coach Andy Enfield.

Freshman guard Julian Jacobs drew a foul and scored on a Harden-esque Eurostep 6 minutes into the game, ballooning the Trojans' lead to 17-3.

Jacobs and senior Pe'Shon Howard spearheaded the Trojan attack, with both guards pushing the ball and finishing with five assists on the night.

"I think it's an advantage, because either of us can run the point," said Jacobs on the starting backcourt.

The story of the first half for USC, however, was the defense forcing the Titans into 10 turnovers on an array of 10-second violations, bad passes and illegal screens.

The only thing uglier than the Titans offense might have been their orange away uniforms, which were all too similar to the ghastly New York Knicks alternate jerseys

And when the Titans were able to break the zone, they still had to worry about center Omar Oraby, who finished with six blocks on the night.

Oraby also solidified the paint on the offensive end for the Trojans, contributing 15 points and nine rebounds while going 7-of-10 at the free throw line.

"He's virtually unstoppable when we get the ball to him in the paint," Enfield said of Oraby. "He either draws a foul or scores."

The Trojans took a 45-25 lead into the break, but fell into an offensive rut after opening the second half with a quick burst.

Fullerton responded with a 14-0 run towards the midway point of the second half, with Titans guard Sheldon Blackwell scoring and being fouled on back-to-back possessions at one point.

Luckily for the Trojans, the Byron Wesley Show was still playing on Tuesday, with the junior swingman constantly attacking the rim and scoring 13 of his game-high 22 points in the second half.

Wesley also pulled down eight rebounds, after coming into the night leading the squad with an average of over nine per game.

"Byron is becoming a complete player," said Enfield. "I'm impressed because he's not forcing bad shots…he's getting to the foul line, has more assists than turnovers this year, and he's rebounding the basketball."

The Titans kept the game within 15 points for most of the second half, but Pe'Shon Howard's alley-oop to Oraby with two minutes remaining put the finishing touch on the Trojans victory.

USC will host West Alabama on Thursday before heading off to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament next week.

Game Notes:

-Former Trojan and current Lakers shooting guard "Noodles" Nick Young was sitting courtside. "Swagy P", as he is also known by, was also wearing a wallet chain.

-The Kicks of the Night Award goes to freshman forward Roschon Prince for his lime Nike Foamposites
