UCLA Football Player Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Assault
Torian White, 20, was arrested by UCLA campus police and sent to a building on Glenrock Avenue after a report came through around 3 a.m. Sunday of a disturbance.
According to UCLA's football coach Jim Mora actions have been taken against the student and his position on the team. In a statement issued by UCLA Mora said,
“We are aware of the situation involving Torian White, and we take these accusations very seriously,” he continued, “Torian has been suspended from the team indefinitely while the legal process and student discipline process run their course.” Mora said. “Due to the ongoing police investigation, we are unable to discuss this matter further at this time."
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Inmate Information Center website White is currently being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility.
As of Tuesday evening the case was presented by police on Monday for consideration and prosecutors requested law enforcement conduct an additional investigation.
White is a California resident who grew up in Inglewood. He is an offensive lineman on UCLA's team but hasn't played since his right leg injury on Oct. 3 in a game against Utah.
