Texas Gas Pipeline Explodes, Evacuations Underway

A pipeline in rural Milford, TX exploded on Thursday, with authorities going door to door to ask residents of nearby areas to evacuate as a precaution, the town's mayor's office said.

According to ABC affiliate WFAA in Dallas, there were no injuries after the explosion.

The explosion, reported at close to 9:45 a.m. on Thursday at a drilling site located close to the intersection of FM 308 and U.S. Highway 77, did not result in any injuries.

Schools in the area were also evacuating, with students being taken to Italy, TX, a town 5 miles away from Milford. Milford, TX is located 46 miles south of Dallas, and has a population of just over 700 according to 2010 Census figures.
