According to Eric Barker’s new book, Barking Up The Wrong Tree, journalists and other media types top the list of professions psychopaths are most likely to be in. Journalism has always had a reputation for attracting off-beat characters, but psychopaths is a bit unexpected. So, what exactly is a psychopath? According to Dictionary.com, "a person with a psychopathic personality, which manifests as amoral and antisocial behavior, lack of ability to love or establish meaningful personal relationships, extreme egocentricity, failure to learn from experience, etc."

Journalist comes in at number six, just one spot before police officer. That’s pretty harsh.

On the contrary therapists and doctors are least likely to attract psychopaths, which is almost hard to believe. Come on, some therapists and doctors must have some sort of power trip. Right?

See who else tops the list

1. CEO

2. Lawyer

3. Media (TV/Radio)

4. Salesperson

5. Surgeon

6. Journalist

7. Police Officer

8. Clergyperson

9. Chef

10. Civil Servant
