Over a month ago, after numerous complaints and apologies, the Obama administration promised to have all of the problems with the HealthCare.gov site wrapped up by this weekend. As of Saturday morning and an 11-hour shutdown period, the site has returned and has so far, come through.

The site has been criticized for its lack of clarity, outages, errors, and slow load times since its debut on Oct. 1st. 

“With upgrades [Friday] night and those planned for tonight, the team is continuing its ongoing work to make HealthCare.gov work smoothly for the vast majority of users,” a spokeswoman, Julie Bataille, told Fox News. “The HealthCare.gov team continues to make technical enhancements to the site over the weekend.” 

Reports have claimed that account creation and log-in functions appear to be working smoothly, but the site has yet to reach the target traffic capacity it achieved on its first day open back in October before crashing. There is not more to go off of outside of the login stage, but online applications for the Health Insurance Marketplace are to be shut down every morning between 1 and 5 a.m. est during the  improvements process.

Current concerns are whether or not the website will be able to identify the various identities of those who sign up and calculate government subsidies for anyone whose income is legally at the federal poverty level.

If the website is not completely fixed or stable enough to use for the amount of visitors expected, uninsured Americans expecting to be on Obamacare by the Dec. 23rd deadline will be facing a large problem.

The site is currently up and running and should continue to be so unless another major malfunction occurs.
