Though young men and women dream of working in the fashion industry, it can be difficult to know which path to take in order to "make it". The industry is notoriously tough to break into, with high-tower connections and competitive internships being common launching pads. This is where the "How To Make It In Fashion" conference comes in.

The conference, taking place this Friday, November 8th at the W Hotel in Hollywood, will be hosted by style news source Fashionista. Workshops, Q & A's, and other presentations are scheduled to occur throughout the day.

Guest speakers include designer/stylist L’Wren Scott, as well as Lyn Paolo, costume designer of "Scandal" and "Shameless". Scott and Paolo are expected to provide expert mentoring and tips of the trade.

The guidance provided by the fashion moguls is designed to help those who want to jump-start their careers. Stylish hopefuls have heads filled with questions that Scott and Paolo are ready to answer. Should you jump the gun and start your own blog? Should you switch majors (yet again)? Is FIDM really the only option if you want to have a future in this industry?

After hearing from Scott and Paolo, attendees will have lunch while watching an interview from fashion’s Queen of DIY, Erica Domesek. Her colorful website and easy-to-follow instructions bode well for a fun, lighthearted session. Domesek will also be hosting Panel 2: "Building a Blog to Build Your Brand". For those who are struggling to make their blog stand out, this panel should be a priority.

If you are unable to attend the conference, Neon Tommy has you covered. Count on us to recap everything you missed, including the seven best tips from the conference. Be sure to check back after the event for all of our coverage!
