29 years ago today, Scarlett Johansson graced the world with her presence. Born in New York City, the actress made her break into Hollywood at the tender age of nine when she starred in the movie "North." Ever since her role as little Laura Nelson, Johansson has erupted onto the acting scene, starring in some of our favorite movies.

In honor of this bombshell's birthday, here's a look at her best 5 movie roles:

1. The Nanny Diaries (2007)

In this book-turned-movie, Johansson plays a recent college graduate, Annie Braddock, who becomes a live in nanny for a wealthy New York City family. Annie is sassy, but kindhearted and after observing the dysfunctional nature of the family, she aims to make changes that will bring the family closer together. Johansson is seldom cast in these type of sweet, girl next door, roles, so it was a nice change to see her play a wholesome character, and she was able to play it very well!

2. The Other Boleyn Girl (2008)

Only super stars like Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman could make 16 century drama so intriguing. "The Other Boleyn Girl" tells the story of Ann (Portman) and Mary (Johansson), two sisters who vie for the affection of King Henry VIII. The King is enthralled by Mary, and gets her pregnant as soon as he has the chance. However, when Mary is bedridden because of her difficult pregnancy, Ann steps in to please her sister's beau. This love triangle is so insane, it literally goes down in history.

3.  Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008)

Johansson is part of yet another love triangle in this scandalous independent film. Johansson plays Cristina, an American woman who gets wrapped up in a love affair with a free spirited Spaniard while on vacation with her best friend Vicky. Cristina stays in Spain to live with her new lover, but things get a little complicated when his ex wife, Penelope Cruz, comes to live with them and romances both partners. This is the first time we see Johansson in such a sensual role, and we loved it!

4. He's Just Not That Into You (2009)

This blockbuster movie features a stellar cast, which includes Johansson. She plays Anna, a sultry yoga teacher who winds up in an affair with a married man, Ben (Bradley Cooper.) Anna is aware that her new lover is married, but she thinks that Ben will leave his wife in order to be with her. Anna therefore compromises her own morals to be with him. Anna's story line is strangely relatable yet entertaining. Overall, this film is the official guide for all females in any, and all types relationships.

5. The Avengers (2012)

Johansson joins "The Avengers" league as the Black Widow. As if Johansson wasn't sexy enough, when she gains the title of superhero, she is a bonafide babe. However, the Black Widow is an asset to the league so her role isn't overly sexualized, but actually empowers women. This is one of Johansson's only action films, and she surprisingly played it very well. Fingers crossed for a sequel!
