45 Dead In Latvian Supermarket Collapse

Search teams continue to comb the rubble for bodies after a supermarket collapse in Latvia's capital city.

The roof of the Maxima supermarket in western Riga caved in Thursday, killing at least 45, including three firefighters, and injuring at least 35 more.

According to CNN, Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs speculates that materials stored on the roof of the building caused the collapse.

Rescue Service spokesperson Viktorija Sembele said that another 600 sqaare meters of the collapsed area still need to be thoroughly searched. The death toll is expected to rise as the search goes forward.
