L.A. Resident Wants City Services Restored

Neighborhood: Studio City
Job: Director of Project Management
Age: 52
What are the top issues facing Los Angeles, and why?
The top issues facing Los Angeles are tax revenue and city services. Since the recession, L.A. has not been able to keep up with city services due to the drop in tax and city revenue. This has affected everything such as emergency services (police & fire), education (public schools), social services and public services (parks & streets). Many jobs have been lost as a result of budget cuts. L.A. residents also receive less services or none at all as a result of budget cuts.
The bottom line is the quality of life in L.A. has suffered.
What could Mayor Garcetti do to address your top priorities?
Garcetti needs to enhance tax revenue through policy change that would directly enhance job creation.
Did you vote in the May election? Who did you support?
I did not vote in the May election. However, I did support Garcetti.
When you say that Mayor Garcetti needs to encourage policy change, what do you mean by that? Do you have any specific ideas as to what he should do?
He needs to encourage real estate development and encourage new industries to open business in Los Angeles.
