Every other week, Staff Reporter Jillian Morabito showcases some of the tunes you should be tuning in to. Here are her picks for your new Must Listen Playlist:

“Awkward” by San Cisco

A dialogue between drummer Scarlett Stevens and lead singer Jordi Davieson, “Awkward” is a fun alternative song that will leave you humming “da da da” all day long. The young Australian band sounds very much like the Kooks or Rooney.

“Broken Promise Land” by Claire

This new German band released their electro-pop EP last week. This track in particular has a very '80s rock feel to it. Cue the smoke machines.

“Walls” by Iain Morrison ft. Daibhidh Martin

In an absolute touching song of about a hope in a loving relationship, Iain Morrison shows off his magnetic skills. Beautifully composed, the Scottish musician has plenty more songs worth your listen, especially if you enjoy musicians like Joshua Radin and James Morrison.

“Kidnap Me” by Cruiser

Straight out of Philadelphia, Cruiser is a band worth noting. Simply put, their indie-pop tracks are fun. With the infectious beat, this song is a little slice of summer.

“Nothing Compares 2 U” by Sinead O'Connor

Due to recent headlines, we must throw it back to O’Connor’s most brilliant moment before she told Miley to stop twerking. Although Prince wrote it, who can forget the singer’s haunting performance and this essential '90s tune, which also has one of the most emotional music videos ever. In fact, O’Connor was the first female to win the VMA Music Video of the Year award.
