Shoplifters can tend to carry some out of place items, depending on their reasons for shoplifting. If it’s for the thrill, they might be holding random objects that are generally useless to them. If it’s for necessity, the items could be a bit more practical.

Carrying an undeveloped infant, however, opens up a completely different can of worms.

Earlier in the week, a 17-year –old girl was caught shoplifting in a New York Victoria’s Secret store. When caught, apprehended and searched, among the items found in her purse was a dead fetus.

From ABC Local

“The medical examiner's office says the autopsy on the remains of a baby whose body was found in the bag of a teenage girl at Victoria's Secret is inconclusive pending further testing.

Charges have not been upgraded as detectives wait for the cause of death from the medical examiner's office.

Late Friday night, sources confirmed the newborn weighed eight and a half pounds, pointing to a full term baby.”

The two shoplifters, Tiana Rodriguez and Francis Estevez, were arrested on Thursday for charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. It is suspected that the birth mother, Rodriguez, had a miscarriage at her friend’s house in Queen’s the day before.

It currently being suspected that the infant may have been born alive, but need the tests results to determine the actual cause of death. The results may take a couple of weeks.
