The mother of the young Florida girl who was allegedly bullied until she took her own life last month may see justice served after all. Authorities arrested two girls, ages 14 and 12, in connection with the death of Rebecca Sedwick on Monday. Officials believe that the 14-year-old was the leader of the tormenting that drove Sedwick to plunge to her death from the top of an abandoned concrete plant. The identities of the two suspects has not been released because they are minors.

The 14-year-old drew attention to her actions when she posted the following status on Facebook following Sedwick's suicide:

"Yes IK I bullied REBECCA nd she killed her self but IDGAF."

According to ABC News, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd brought the two girls into custody because he saw a lack of remorse. He was astonished at the fact that following these allegations, the parents of the 14-year-old allowed her to continue her social media use. "I'm aggravated that the parents aren't doing what they are supposed to be doing," he said in a CNN report

While bullying is currently not against the law, the intense harassment of Sedwick online and at school brought forward charges of stalking. No court date is set for either girl yet. According to Judd, the girls will most likely not see any time in juvenile detention because they have no previous criminal records.

Sedwick would have turned 13 this weekend and her mother considers the arrest of these two girls the best birthday present her daughter could have received. "Because justice is finally being service," Tricia Norman told CNN. "That's all she ever wanted was somebody to listen and do something about it."
