LA Resident Wants Help For Small Businesses
Neighborhood: Jefferson Park/Hollywood
Job: Small Business Owner in Hollywood
Age: 45
What are the top issues facing Los Angeles, and why?
"Having a viable business in L.A. Our economy is pretty strong and you're recording this on a day where a bunch of Republicans are being whiny brats [referring to the government shutdown] and wrecking our economy and it actually does have an effect. I own a small business and things are just coming to a hault. That's something L.A. needs to do, is spur small business growth and stuff like that and big business growth."
What could Mayor Garcetti do to address your top priorities?
"Probably listen to businesss leaders and get a bunch of ideas from them."
Did you vote in the May election? Who did you support?
"Absolutely. I voted for Mayor Garcetti. He was my councilmember forever in the Hollywood area, which is where I live. I always thought he was cool. He was always on the right side of things and we have a lot of weird issues in Hollywood, but he seemed to handle them fine. He was there for 13 years and that means a lot, so, I definitely think he's prepared for this job."
Is there anything else you'd like to say about issues in L.A. or about the Mayor?
"The biggiest thing is get business spurred on, that's about it."
