What are the top issues facing Los Angeles, and why?

I want City Hall to pay more attention to sidewalk repair.

What could Mayor Garcetti do to address your top priorities?

He needs to allocate more money to sidewalk repair. I notice that he’s allocated some money to fix potholes in the streets, but apparently not allocated any increased money to sidewalks from what I’ve understand.

Did you vote in the May election? Who did you support?

Yeah, I voted for Garcetti. I think his policy is the good thing he wants to do, and I heard his interview on KPCC, and he’s sound like a nice guy who wants to do the right thing.

So what’s the big deal about sidewalk repair?

The sidewalks are in terrible shape. It’s really dangerous to walk down them when I take a walk every morning. Though I haven’t gotten injured and I haven't seen anyone injured, it can happen.

Some streets are especially terrible, it depends. It’s everywhere in L.A., but my neighborhood for sure. Oftentimes, part of the paths I walk rise up, and other cases are like the gaps we have to step up so you won’t trip. You have to be very careful.
