Name: Eric Johnson

Neighborhood: Downtown Los Angeles

Job: Property Management

Age: 29

What are the top issues facing Los Angeles, and why?

The unemployment rate, and traffic! With no jobs available in L.A., it creates a vicious cycle. Unemployment insurance claims rise, which causes the debt in California as well as Los Angeles to rise, which in turn causes businesses to close or not be able to offer any open positions. The traffic for commuters here is horrible. There are multiple public transportation options, but for someone like me who that would not work for traffic, is just pitiful. Traffic leaves me very unmotivated to travel anywhere unfortunately.

What should Mayor Garcetti do to address your top priorities?

Be an advocate for the people of L.A. The power is definitely with the citizens of L.A., but we can only do and say so much before our voices are drowned out. He should put his political agenda aside and actually voice the major concerns of the "Angelinos". As far as traffic is concerned, come up with a realistic plan for this metro construction that's going on.

Did you vote in the May election? Who did you support?

Yes, I supported Eric Garcetti. His plans for the beautification of neighborhoods that I grew up in really made me feel as if he actual cares about the under privileged as much as the privileged.
