For years, Pakistan's government has publicly opposed the CIA's drone program in its country, but according to the Washington Post, secret documents reveal that Pakistani officials actually endorsed the program and were regularly briefed on strikes and casualties.

The documents provide details for more than 60 strikes in Pakistan, and some of them were specifically tailored to the regular meetings between U.S. and Pakistani officials.

Officials from the country responded by repeating their alleged opposition to the strikes, saying that such attacks threaten the sovereignty of Pakistan.

"Whatever understandings there may or may not have been in the past, the present government has been very clear regarding its policy on the issue," the Pakistani foreign ministry said in a statement, according to the Post.

The Post also published surveillance photos of the drone targets before and after the strikes.
