“It’s fall but I don’t feel seasonally appropriate eating 'Original,' 'Sour Cream & Onion,' or even 'Memphis BBQ' Pringles right now. I really wish that I had the option to indulge my desire to make a duck face out of chips that also taste like pie."

If this internal monologue sounds familiar, Pringles has answered your prayers. A new flavor of Pringles’ “dessert chips” has appeared: "Pecan Pie." The Consumerist reports how the chips have been cropping up on shelves, primarily at Dollar General stores. No official release has come from any Pringles social media but now that BuzzFeed has hopped on the press bandwagon, it’s only a matter of time before Pringles makes an official statement.

This flavor follows the release of three dessert chip flavors last fall: "Pumpkin Pie Spice," "White Chocolate Peppermint," and "Cinnamon & Sugar." So far, "Pecan Pie" is the only new flavor available, but Pringles' reluctance to announce it suggests more flavors could follow.

Sweet Pringles may seem like a bizarre, if not blasphemous concept, but they’re tame compared to some of the crazier flavors around the world. From “Los Angeles Street” to “Night Club” to “Rock the Floor,” the international Pringles market delivers when it comes to flavors-that-aren’t-actually-flavors.
