He took the typical gap year after college to a whole new level. Some may say he is a professional traveler. Others may call him a professional tourist. Whatever you would like to call him, he is the most traveled man in the world.

After more than two decades of adventure seeking all over the world, Mike Spencer Brown is returning home to Canada. The Calgary native embarked on the journey 23 years ago, and has spent a considerable amount of time in each country he visited. Last summer, Brown narrowed down all of his experiences and created a list of the top 80 adventures he ever had. Out of those 80 experiences, here are 15 of those amazing escapades (in no particular order.)

15. Standing in the graveyard of the Blue whales, South Georgia Island, Antarctica

14. Paddleboat past sleeping tigers in the Sunderbans Mangrove Forest, Bangladesh

13. Learning to drive a reindeer sleigh while drunk with the Yakuti tribe, Yakutsk, Russia

12. Temple climbing in the Mayan ruins of Tikal, Guatemala

11. Castles of the Slave Coast, Ghana

10. Dodging angry forest elephants, Luango Park, Gabon

9. Viewing the last of the Asiatic lions in Sasan Gir, India

8. Dim-sum carts and steaming baskets, Hong Kong

7. Avoiding capture in the land of pirates, Puntland State of Somalia

6. Standing amidst penguin colonies under towering, blue ice cliffs, Antarctica

5. Searching for the perfect mango, Unawatuna Beach, Sri Lanka

4. Angel Falls by dugout canoe, Venezuela

3. Living in a leaf hut with an African Pygmy tribe, Democratic Republic of Congo

2. Dressing up as a Pashtun to infiltrate a restricted militarized zone in southern Pakistan and getting detained for 16 hours by the C.I.A.

1. Surviving a Taliban gun fight at a spirit worshipping tribal festival in Pakistan.

It’s safe to say this man had more wanderlust than anyone else on Earth. But has he retired his passport? Or is this just a quick break to recharge his batteries? For such an adventure seeker, it seems unlikely he will stay put for long.
