Fact: Miley Cyrus and John Daly are the next Sonny and Cher.

It all started this morning when Matt Lauer asked Cyrus if she would ever move on from the "sexual side of you that we're seeing a lot right now." Cyrus responded that she would when she turned 40 because that's when "people don't have sex anymore." After some awkwardness with Lauer, 55, Cyrus left.

A strange interview, sure, but that's become par for the course with Cyrus. Until John Daly decided to get involved. (See what I did there? Golf pun segue.)

Daly, 47, fired off this bit of romance, using hip shorthand notation such as "luv," "ur" and "LOL" to showcase his youthful vigor.

Age is only a number, and just because Daly has 27 years on Cyrus doesn't mean they aren't perfect for each other. Daly likes to party. Cyrus likes to party. Both run things. Neither lets things run we. And both are accomplished musicians.

Sure, Daly made his name smacking golf balls really far, but as he's matured, he's found his passion in serenading the masses.

Daly got his big break on Kid Rock's 2007 classic, "Half Your Age," where Daly supplied back-up vocals.

Although released in 2007, it appears Daly could have been foreshadowing his love for Cyrus, with beautiful lyrics like:

I found someone new who treats me better

She don't bitch about things we ain't got

When I sing this tune it don't upset her

She's half your age and twice as hot

Oh she wakes up every morning and she folds my clothes

Doesn't care about the strippers dancing at my shows

She knows that I love her so I just wanted you to know

Oh she don't start trouble cuz she dont need drama

She likes it in the mornin' and she loves my momma

I'm her big poppa an she's my little rock n roll

But Daly wasn't content to play Robin to Kid Rock's Batman. Daly was ready for the big time and his 2010 album "I Only Know One Way" is as hot liquid fire magma as they come. Smash hit after smash hit after smash hit (and at just $8.99, you won't find a better bargain)

But tracks like "Lonely As A Man Can Be" and "God Sent A Woman" provide a window into Daly's tormented soul. Daly is more than a happy man smashing drives out of people's mouths in parking lots; he's a man in search of love from a woman half his age. We've all been there.

And now it appears he's found it. America needs a new power couple and it appears one has fallen into our laps. Miley and John 2013.
