Lauren Conrad of "The Hills" fame announced her engagement to USC law student William Tell this past Sunday. The reality star turned fashion designer–author–beauty blogger shared the news and a picture of the engagement ring on her website. As a media personality, her love life has always been highly publicized, and some of her relationships were even part of the central plots in her reality shows. She may have found her happy ending with her beau of a year-and-a-half years, but it’s been a long rode to find Mr. Right. Here’s a look at her previous boyfriends.

It all started out in high school with her crush on fellow "Laguna Beach" star Stephen Colletti. They dated on-and-off in 2004, but broke up due to conflicts with co-star Kristen Cavillari. Colletti and Conrad remain friends, however, and continued to be seen out together occasionally.  

After graduating and moving to Los Angeles, Conrad decided to give a second chance to high school classmate Jason Wahler (who just got married this past weekend!). This relationship seemed doomed from the start; he had previously cheated on her, and his bad boy partying and struggle with addiction only added tension. She ended it after a tumultuous summer together, but had a hard time recovering from the break-up.

She took a much-needed hiatus from relationships, but put herself out there again in 2007 by going on a couple of dates with "Hills" co-star Brody Jenner (Bruce Jenner’s son of Kardashian fame). They had chemistry from the start, but decided they were better off as friends. Jenner remained protective and supportive of her throughout "The Hills."

In 2008, Conrad was briefly with Jenner’s friend, Doug Reinhardt, whom she had dated during her senior year of high school. It only lasted a few weeks, though, because she didn't feeling any sparks. 

Conrad then got serious with actor Kyle Howard; they were together for three years. She talked very little about their romance and kept him off-screen. Despite many thinking that they would wed, they split in 2011. He apparently wanted to focus on his career and wasn’t very supportive of hers.

She then spent some time casually dating before meeting William Tell in 2012. Conrad has been linked to "American Idol" contestant Chris Richardson, Derek Hough of "Dancing With The Stars" and actors Chace Crawford, Colton Hayes, Shawn Pyfrom and Lee Norris.

Given her past history, perhaps her relationship with Tell will last because he is not in the entertainment industry and they can steer clear of the spotlight.
