Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti took office in July with promises of a "back-to-basics" approach to the city. As the end of Garcetti's first 100 days in office approaches, we check in with Los Angeles residents to gauge their concerns for the city, and what the Mayor can do to address them.

Name: Isauro Delarocha

Neighborhood: Downtown (Jewelry District)

Profession: Attorney

Age: 27

What are the top issues facing Los Angeles and why?

I'm generally pretty happy with things, but living Downtown there are definitely issues. We need more supermarkets, and transportation isn't great. Plus, it smells.

What could Mayor Garcetti do to address your top priorities?

Opening more supermarkets downtown would really help with access to better food. Cleaning up Downtown would also be great because it definitely smells and needs to be taken better care of. And making the Metro lines more connected would help with transportation issues. I don't commute to work, I just walk since I already live Downtown, but if I need to travel anywhere else it's really inconvenient.

Did you vote in the May election? If so, who did you support?

No, I didn't vote. I'm note sure why. I just didn't think about it, I guess.

So if you don't commute, why is transportation an issue for you?

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. The need for a better transportation system has been around for a long time, and I know this city has the potential to have a better system. The Mayor definitely needs to put more funding into transportation, because it just isn't fast enough, and doesn't connect in enough places to be very helpful to anyone.
