Let's be honest here: whether you like it or not, Ted and Robin's relationship has always been a big question mark throughout the show. It may seem that now that the Stinson-Scherbatsky wedding is slowly approaching, that door has been shut. With so much history they have, it's hard to let it go, especially for Ted.

This week, we pick up with Barney explaining that he saw Ted and Robin holding hands by the carousel. Ted fears that Barney will stop trusting him and their friendship will be shattered by the incident, but Barney simply shrugs it off. Ted is surprised, but does not reveal his true feelings for Robin. He starts crying, but it's over the $600 bottle of scotch he dropped on the ground.

There are loads of references to the past seasons once again. One of the big ones is the return of Marshpillow! For those of you who haven't watched the seasons before this one, Lily created Marshpillow to keep her company when Marshall would come home from work late. It began as just something to cuddle up to, but then became weird when Lily started making dinner for it.

Meanwhile, Ted has all his best man duties under control. He made 200 place cards written in calligraphy, and is even willing to switch rooms with Barney's great-aunt Ida. This deal ends up not working in his favor, with Ted ending up in a dark and unadorned room that has faulty fire sprinklers. There are more things Barney keeps asking Ted for, with each new request seeming more unnecessary and raising the question of whether it's all intentional.

Robin makes an underhanded comment about Lily spending so much time on assembling the new and improved Marshpillow with a tablet for a face to see Marshall in real time. She calls Lily out on the "weak-ass bachelorette" party she threw for Robin. It was at MacLaren's, and no one showed up except for Patrice (quite possibly Robin's least favorite person), who didn't even get an invite. Lily then tells Robin does not have any other female friends, that maybe she just hates women.

Ted walks into Barney's room and interrupts a poker game after finishing the third set of calligraphy place cards. Ranjit, Marshpillow, and even Tim Gunn, who is Barney's personal tailor, are playing, when Barney confesses that he has a new best man: "The Karate Kid's" William Zabka, who portrayed the antagonist in the film.

It turns out that Barney is indeed upset about the moment Ted and Robin shared near the carousel in the rain. Ted argues that with Barney's constant breaking of the Bro Code. Barney is shocked and states that it isn't true, but Ted throws the story of his mom and Barney hooking up right in his face. Barney denies it and says it was a joke all along, but really, it happened.

The two friends (hopefully not ex-friends any time soon) need an unbiased friend to assess the situation. They speak to Marshall in his Marshpillow state and he says that if Ted held hands with Robin and it wasn't weird, then he can do that with anyone, showing that he does not have specific feelings for her.

Back to Lily and Robin: Lily decides to help Robin make a new female friend to talk with and spend time with while Lily is away in Rome. The problem is that Robin is awful at making conversation with women, sounding insensitive or pretentious when she says anything to them. Lily chooses to pull some advice from "The Bro Code" and tells Robin to talk to a crying girl at the bar. When she goes to hug her, the woman pulls away from Robin and says that she hates hugs and she's just upset because one of her favorite sports teams lost. Robin relates to her through this, and they hit it off pretty nicely.

Barney and Ted go to the beach and reenact the moment at the carousel. It doesn't feel weird at first, but then Ted finally admits that he sometimes has feelings for Barney's fiancé. Ted values the friendship from both the bride-to-be and the soon-to-be-wed groom that he decides to swear on "The Bro Code" in order to stop his emotions from bubbling over.

Lily is at first happy with Robin making a new friend, but then something within her gets jealous. She goes up to the girl and tells her to stay away from Robin, Lily thought she had left, only to see that she came back to the room to get her purse. Robin then says that she doesn't need any other friends, that she's her "psycho."

The last scene shows Ted and the boys playing poker. We get an answer that Billy, the man from "The Karate Kid", that he will try and take the Best Man title from Ted.
