Some things will always be in and out of style—animal print clothing, overalls/overall dresses, plaid flannels, vests. We have all had our trendy obsessions during our teenage years. What was your high school do that is now a don't?

Dip dye hair

The likely reason this trend lasted among girls is because of celebrity influences. Stars like Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, Lauren Conrad and Khloé Kardashian made it the new fad.

Dipping hair to make it half blond looks unnatural. The new way to dip dye is to use crazy colors like pink, purple or blue. If it does not natural, you might as well go all-out, and use an unnatural color. The style just reminds people of a skunk with the dark hair and a random bottom half being a different color.

A character like Cruella DeVil is probably the only one who can pull of the skunk hair. If super-colorful dip dying doesn't sound appealing to you, try out highlights that actually look natural and flow nicely with your hair color.

Crimped/braided hair

This is the hair style that made people crazy and obsessed, but also went out of style quickly. You might have been in middle school transitioning to high school, or a high schooler when this was popular. Many girls went to sleep-overs and makeover birthday parties waiting to get their hair crimped or have thin braids in their hair.

You don’t see people with crimped hair anymore, though braids are still common, but not as thin as people liked them. A thicker braid on the side of your hair is a classic style.

Ripped jeans

Why pay perfectly good money for jeans that are ruined? If you want ripped jeans, rip them yourself. Jeans that can replace this style are the continuous trend of colored jeans that last through different seasons. Boyfriend jeans are also trending for a relaxed look that makes you seem carefree, with the success of looking fashionable without trying too hard.

Bandanas

Colorful, patterned, or monochrome, bandanas were popular among boys and girls, and celebrities like Rihanna. They were first used to wear over the head as a headband. The second trend to come was used to tie long hair. Its final stage was used to wear as jewelry.

Men and women with edgy style wore bandanas as a bracelet that easily tied around the wrist. Like many other trends, who knows if this will come back into style.

Bandanas with patterns are always harder to match with the rest of an outfit if accessories are what's your fashion priority. It might be better to choose accessories after an outfit is al picked out. Either way, bandanas, for now, should remain in the past.

Suspenders

This item became a trend in 2009, brought back from way back when. Neon or black suspenders were worn with either jeans or shorts, and paired with a T-shirt. Unless you are a businessman/woman, a banker, or Larry King, these straps are out of style.
