Power couples are so overrated. Let’s take a look at a few celebrities who fell for Average Joes and Janes. 

Madonna is currently dating Brahim Zaibat, a 24-year-old break-dancer. The duo met September 2011 during the launch of the Material girl’s clothing line. 

Matt Damon found love in a Miami bar. While filming Stuck on You in 2003, Damon came across bartender Luciana Barroso. “Something incredible happened the first time I saw her,” said Damon in an interview with Hello! Canada. The happy couple married in 2005 and they have four daughters: Alexia, 7 (Luciana’s daughter from a previous relationship), Isabella, 5, Gia, 3, and Stella, 15 months. 

"Grey’s Anatomy" hunk Jesse Williams met wife Aryn Drake-Lee before he became famous. Williams met real estate agent Drake-Lee while he was a schoolteacher and told USA Today in 2010, “She’s stuck with me through thick and thin.” The couple recently announced they are expecting a baby. 

It seems the stars of Grey’s Anatomy have a thing for non-famous mates. Ellen Pompeo met her music producer husband of five years in a grocery store. While her co-star Patrick Dempsey married hairdresser Jillian Fink. 

Singer Adele met Simon Konecki, CEO of the charity Drop4Drop, summer 2011 in the U.K. The couple welcomed in their first child, Angelo in October 2012. Hopefully everything works out for the two or we will definitely hear about it on Adele’s upcoming album. 

Robert De Niro found love in the air with then-flight attendant Grace Hightower. The duo started dating in 1987 and married 1997. Although they had a few rough years, including De Niro filing for divorce and a bitter public battle, the couple renewed their vows in 2004. They currently reside in New York City with their two children, Elliot and Helen. 

Black Swan starlet Natalie Portman met choreographer husband Benjamin Millepied on set. The couple said their "I do's" in August of 2012 and have a baby boy named Aleph Portman-Millepied. 

Drew Barrymore started dating art consultant Will Kopelman in February 2011. They have a daughter named Olive and wed last year. 

After ending her high profile relationship with con artist Raffaello Follieri, Anne Hathaway began dating jewelry designer Adam Shulman. The Oscar winning actress tied the knot September 2012 and currently resides in Brooklyn with her beau. 

Funny man Kevin Hart recently celebrated his 4-year anniversary with girlfriend Eniko Parrish. Parrish is an aspiring model and actress from Baltimore. 

After a slew of failed high profile relationships after another, Julia Roberts met now husband Danny Moder. Moder was a cameraman on the set of Roberts’s movie "The Mexican" in 2000. They married in 2002 and have three children together: 7 year old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and Henry, 4. 

Similarly, Tobey Maguire also met his wife on set. While shooting Universal Studios Seabiscuit in 2003, Maguire ran into the daughter of Universal boss Ronald Meyer. Maguire and Jennifer Meyer started dating and had daughter Ruby in 2006. They married in 2007 and had son Otis shortly after.
