Representiative Gary Miller represents California's 31st district, voicing the interests of San Bernardino County.

He has been involved in elections and regulations since 1988 and serving in Congress since 1999.

Throughout his political career, Miller has been an avid Republican Party and is currently a member of the Tea Party.

On May 16, 2013 when the House voted to repeal Obamacare, Miller made the following statement:

“Skyrocketing costs have put quality health coverage out of reach for millions of hard-working American families and small businesses for far too long. Lack of access to affordable, quality health care options leaves families on the hook for massive medical bills, burdens hospitals with higher uncompensated care costs, and puts small businesses at a recruitment disadvantage with larger employers who are able to provide health benefits," he said.

In his 2011-2012 term, Miller accepted $1,212,802 in campaign funds, a majority of which came from the real estate interests, followed by insurance interests.

He received all this money for his campaign but do the people of California know who he is? Do the San Bernardino residents know?

Denny Shorett, the manager of Crown Printing, a small business with a 42-year history in San Bernardino, however does not appreciate Miller's hardlined politics.

Shorett says that the government shutdown is an attack on Obama that fails to consider the needs of constitutents.

"The shutdown is not meant to help the people. It is for Obama: this is his law for his agenda. Obamacare may help people, but it does not help small businesses financially. Small business can only provide for health care if they cut costs and not hire more employees," he said.

Shorett has let go of almost half of his employees since 2008. His business is steady, but he had to take on more work to keep the business thriving.
